Dr. Balasubramanian, Cell Biologist, author of numerous scholarly publications, originally from Tamil Nadu India, currently Research Professor at the Medical University of South Carolina, inherits a traditional Indian practice of Yoga from his family, supplemented with advance training in Yoga from Swami Chitbhavananda's Vivekananda College in India. Dr. Sundar continued his studies through an MS and PhD in biochemistry. His work marries the traditional science and practice of Yoga with contemporary research on the therapeutic impact of yogic breathing—a practice that allows the practitioner to control their own biochemistry. Dr. Sundar, a scholar practitioner of prāṇāyāma ---yogic breathing---will lead participants through the ancient practice of breath control, to engage in the complete Eight Limbs of Yoga. And whereas many modalities of yoga practice require a high degree of bodily ability, prāṇāyāma is for everyone who can breathe.
