Join this remarkable course designed for scholars, students and seekers interested in studying Yoga Sūtra responsibly.

This course is a must for any serious student of Yoga. Instruction consists in a combination of on-demand video lectures, and weekly live, virtual tutorials with Dr. Shyam Ranganathan, founder of Yoga Philosophy. Join anytime. Dr. Shyam Ranganathan is a scholar of South Asia, translation expert, translator and professional philosopher. He is a member of the Department of Philosophy at York University in Toronto, and the York Center for Asian Research. He is translator and commentator of Patañjali's Yoga Sūtra (Penguin 2008), editor of The Bloomsbury Research Handbook of Indian Ethics, author of Hinduism: A Contemporary Philosophical Investigation (Routledge 2019), and over 50 peer-reviewed, yoga related articles. Unlike anyone before him, Dr. Ranganathan developed cutting edge research on translation while working on a dissertation in Analytic philosophy on translation, while he also perfected his skill as a translator. Dr. Ranganathan via this work in translation theory has single-handedly changed the way the South Asian tradition, and the Yoga tradition, is explored. Shyam holds an MA in South Asian Studies, an MA and PhD in philosophy, and is a CYA-E-RYTGOLD yoga teacher (over 1000 hours training). Yoga Philosophy is a registered yoga school (CYA-RYSGOLD) and a Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider (YACEP). ~~~Students can stay as long as they wish in this course: revisit the material while taking advantage of the weekly virtual tutorials.
